Penn Symphony Orchestra: Schubert & Berlioz
February 18, 2022 (Friday) – 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM
Irvine Auditorium
3401 Spruce St
Philadelphia, PA 19104
Enjoy nature's melodies in Schubert's sublime Symphony no. 5, featuring Penn's own chamber orchestra musicians leading the way in this remarkable rendition of a simply poetic and honest musical work. They will also perform Debussy's Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun, a symphonic poem for orchestra. Following intermission, the entire Penn Symphony Orchestra will join the stage for Berlioz's Harold in Italy, a work for solo viola and orchestra. Our featured soloist is Rachel Ku of the Philadelphia Orchestra. This work also explores the splendor of Southern Italy as depicted by the French composer. Come join us as we continue our celebration of live music!
This event is free and open to the public.
