Penn Wind Ensemble: Philly Special

Join us for the spring concert of Penn Wind Ensemble! The program titled, "Philly Special" features work of Penn Alumni Jennifer Higdon and Ke-Chia Chen along with composers Samuel Barber, Leonard Bernstein, and Richard Danielpour whom either studied or taught at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. "Philly Special" is a small sample of the many contributions Philadelphia has had on music for wind ensemble music. This concert is free and open to the public.

ABOUT

The Penn Wind Ensemble has been actively performing on the Penn campus for over 30 years. Comprised of musicians from the entire Penn community, the Penn Wind Ensemble performs a wide range of repertoire drawing on newly composed works for wind band as well as on works from the core wind repertoire. The ensemble also regularly performs works for varied instrumentation, including wind quintets and chamber configurations. The Penn Wind Ensemble rehearses and performs in historic Irvine Auditorium on Penn’s Campus. More information.
