Uhadi is a five-member supergroup of Johannesburg's Jazz scene, initially assembled in 2014 by Jazz at Lincoln Center to perform in celebration of 20 years of democracy in South Africa. Under the musical direction of saxophonist McCoy Mrubata, the ensemble features a cross-section of South Africa's cultures and generations, from South African trumpeter Feya Faku to drummer Justin Badenhorst (representing a younger generation of artists who came of age in a democratic South Africa).

When Uhadi premiered in the United States in April 2014, it enjoyed a string of sold-out sets at Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola at Jazz at Lincoln Center (the world's largest organization devoted to promoting Jazz), and was immediately invited back. During its April 2016 tour, Uhadi will return to Dizzy's, but will also make its West Coast debut at SFJAZZ, and will premiere a large new project at Bard College in collaboration with the Catskill Jazz Factory.
