Get into the holiday spirit with the University of Pennsylvania Wind Ensemble. The performance will include seasonal favorites by Leroy Anderson, Gustav Holst, and Johann Strauss, as well as Of Nights and Lights – A Chanukah Celebration by Philadelphia composer Darin Kelly. The program will also feature compositions by Mark Camphouse, Leslie Gilreath, and Omar Thomas that celebrate Penn Music’s 2023-2024 focus on “Resilience.”
This performance is free and open to the public.
ABOUT
The Penn Wind Ensemble has been actively performing on the Penn campus for over 30 years. Comprised of musicians from the entire Penn community, the Penn Wind Ensemble performs a wide range of repertoire drawing on newly composed works for wind band as well as on works from the core wind repertoire. The ensemble also regularly performs works for varied instrumentation, including wind quintets and chamber configurations. The Penn Wind Ensemble rehearses and performs in historic Irvine Auditorium on Penn’s Campus. More information.
