Penn Collegium Musicum’s (formerly Ancient Voices) concert on December 1 will be titled “Angels and Shepherds: a 17th century Christmas”.  Music by Praetorius, Buxtehude, Cozzolani, Leonarda and Hammerschmidt will be featured. Highlighting glorious music of the Advent season, the program will contrast the difference between the northern European focus on carols and hymns versus theatrical settings of the Christmas story south of the Alps.
