Sarah Le Van is a second-year doctoral student in Historical Musicology at UPenn’s Department of Music. A graduate of Princeton University, she has devoted her research interests to the intersection between music and the other arts in the medieval and baroque ages, medievalism in 19th and early 20th-century French music, Déodat de Séverac's vocal and operatic compositions, and the interart movement in France. She is also a professional classical violinist and a jazz singer.
