Wildflower Composers presents two concerts this month as part of their 2022 summer season!

July 11, 2022

Founded and Directed by Fifth Year Graduate Student in Composition, Erin Busch, the Wildflower Composers team is composed of individuals in Philadelphia who have a passion for inclusivity and diversity in the arts. If you are in the city & interested in hearing some new music, consider attending one or both of these events:

Wildflower Faculty Concert with Arcana New Music

Thursday, July 14th at 7pm - University Lutheran Church, 3637 Chestnut St.

This will be our first concert of faculty works! I'm looking forward to hearing pieces by our faculty composers inti figgis-vizueta, Rajna Swaminathan, and Flannery Cunningham, performed by members of the Arcana New Music Ensemble. I also have a new work for solo violin on the program! Tickets are pay-what-you-wish, $0–20.

Festival Concert

Friday, July 22nd at 3pm - Rock Hall, 1715 N. Broad St

Our annual concert of world premiere compositions by 2022 students! I'm so excited about our amazing performers this year:
    •    Jessica Beebe, soprano (The Crossing, Variant 6)
    •    Emmalie Tello, clarinet (International Contemporary Ensemble)
    •    Andrew Yee, cello (Attacca Quartet)
    •    Hanchien Lee, piano (Philadelphia Chamber Music Society)

PLUS, all of our students will perform as part of our New Music Ensemble, led by Rajna Swaminathan! I can't wait to hear what our students compose, and I hope to see you there at this 100% free community event. (PS: if you can't make it in person, you can watch the livestream here: https://youtu.be/KXryAhSKZyg).
