Music Students Shine in Awards and Fellowships

Elizabeth Bynum was named 2021 Dean’s Scholar by the School of Arts and Sciences.

 

Vincent Kelley has received a Foreign Language & Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowship for 2021-22.

 

Katherine Scahill has been awarded a  Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation Dissertation Fellowships in Buddhist Studies from the American Council of Learned Societies.

 

Keisuke Yamada (Ph.D '20) has been awarded  a Dissertation Prize from the Northeastern Association of Graduate Schools.

 

Undergraduate students:

 

Music major Collin Frisch (junior) has been awarded the Department of Music's Weiss Prize for his piece "Ruin Your Heart"

 

Justin Blum (EAS senior, minoring in Music) has earned the Nitzsche Prize for "excellence across the year in musical composition"

 

Last but not least: music majors and seniors Maria Kiamesso DaSilva and Gabrielle Hemlick have been invited to join Phi Beta Kappa, recognizing and honoring their exceptional academic achievement in the arts and sciences.
