2018-2019 AUDITIONS for all departmental ensembles announced
The Department of Music announces auditions for all departmental ensembles for the 2018-2019 academic year. All ensembles are open to the entire Penn community - undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, staff, alumni, and members of the University City community. Undergraduates are also able to elect to receive .5 credit/semester for participation. Composers Ke-Chia Chen and Michael Fiday, PhD alumni in composition, awarded 2018 Aaron Copland House Residency Awards
Two Penn composition alumni, Ke-Chia Chen and Michael Fiday, are among the twelve winners of 2018 Aaron Copland House Residency Awards.
Brooke McCorkle (Ph.D. 2015) awarded a Visiting Scholar position
at Waseda University in Tokyo this summer. She plans to complete the research for her book manuscript entitled, Searching for Wagner in Japan.

Mezzo-soprano Meg Bragle appointed Resident Artist
The Music Department is delighted to announce the appointment of distinguished mezzo-soprano Meg Bragle as Resident Artist and Director of Vocal Studies. Ms. Bragle will direct Penn's Opera Scenes (during the spring semester) and the new Collegium Musicum (formerly Ancient Voices). She will also lead masterclasses, offer coachings, perform recitals, and visit classes. Bio
