The Department of Music is pleased to present the Penn Wind Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Michael Ketner. The Penn Wind Ensemble continues to follow the Music Department’s theme of Migration for its Spring 2020 concert, performing music that represents events and styles from countries around the world. The Wind Ensemble is excited to feature a premiere of a piece by Penn student (and Wind Ensemble member) Sheldon Amoo-Mitchual and to collaborate with Penn’s Brazilian Samba Ensemble (Michael Stevens, director).

ABOUT
The Penn Wind Ensemble has been actively performing on the Penn campus for over 40 years. Comprised of musicians from the entire Penn community, the Penn Wind Ensemble performs a wide range of repertoire drawing on newly composed works for wind band as well as on works from the core wind repertoire. The ensemble also regularly performs works for varied instrumentation, including wind quintets and chamber configurations. The Penn Wind Ensemble rehearses and performs in historic Irvine Auditorium on Penn’s Campus.
